Location-based reminders

When planning your tasks you have surely come across this basic problem: Reminders are time-based.

So what’s the problem? The problem is that the task itself may not be planned yet. Imagine the situation where a customer wants you to look at an issue the next time you visit them.

Since reminders are time-based you need to know when you want to be reminded. In the case where you haven’t yet planned the next visit, you cannot set and forget the reminder. You then need to set the reminder at a time where you think the next visit has been planned but not held. If you set your reminder too late, you won’t be reminded and might forget your promise to the customer.

So what is the solution? Location-based reminders.

Location-based reminders are a concept we have introduced to make reminders easier to use. Imagine the example above with a GPS-enabled tablet. The tablet has access to your GPS-coordinates, which Webling translates into an address and compares to your customers. Knowing where you are, Webling can then use your location to inform you of relevante reminders.
